Pastoral Care

The Therapeutic Recreation Department at Silvercrest coordinates spiritual services to fit the needs of all residents. Upon admission, each resident receives an assessment to determine his/her spiritual needs and preferences. Information obtained becomes the basis for a spiritual needs plan.

Orientation

Each resident is informed about the religious worship schedule. Catholic, Jewish and Protestant services are held on a weekly basis (see schedule). In addition, Greek Orthodox, Hindu and Muslim services can be arranged in both group and individual settings depending upon resident population. Residents of other faiths can contact the Therapeutic Recreation Department to arrange services as possible. For those residents who desire personal clergy visits, private, in-room visits, as well as group visits can be arranged.

Residents also have access to:

  • Communion services
  • Anointing of the sick
  • Last rites
