"The Wellness Center" is a unique environment within the Silvercrest complex that brings comfort and efficiency together for the medical evaluation and treatment of our residents. The Center is, in effect, a well equipped "private physician's" office to which residents come for comprehensive "outpatient" type care.

Under the direction of a dedicated Medical Service Coordinator, the Center welcomes specialists from a variety of disciplines. These practitioners are able to more efficiently serve the Silvercrest population because of the coordination the Center and its staff provide. Doctors need not seek out residents within the complex, but know that their patients will be awaiting them in the Center, and that all pertinent medical information will have been assembled for each visit.

The Center currently provides offices for optometry, ophthalmology, otolaryngology and psychiatry. Other specialists who are currently seeing patients on the floors will soon make the Center their treatment home as well. Once this transition is complete, patients will enjoy central access to other doctors from:

• Gynecology
• Orthopedics

The Wellness Center provides two, fully equipped exam rooms that provide the necessary technology for general medical, otolaryngologic, gynecologic and ophthalmologic examination.

An exciting recent development is the creation of an alliance with "HealthReach." This foundation, that provides services to uninsured and disadvantaged patients, performs twice-weekly cardiac screenings in the Center for Silvercrest residents.

The employee health service, vaccination program and TB screening services also find home in the Wellness Center.
